Robyn Carter-Wale

Mrs Robyn Carter-Wale is a highly experienced and dedicated podiatrist with over 20 years working across London NHS Trusts. Throughout this time, her career has spanned community foot health teams, acute hospital settings, and interdisciplinary teams. As a result, her commitment to continuous professional development is evident through her achievements.

Currently, Mrs Carter-Wale holds a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon post with Central London and Community Healthcare NHS Trust. In addition, she divides her time between a specialist foot surgery team and providing expert podiatry care at a general podiatry practice.

Throughout her career, Mrs Carter-Wale has performed over 4,500 foot and ankle surgeries. For example, these include procedures for bunions, toe deformities, tendon conditions, soft tissue issues, arthritic conditions of the foot, and high-risk/diabetic limb salvage. Furthermore, she is a qualified non-medical independent prescriber and CASE accredited sonographer. She also holds extended scope training in lower limb anaesthesia and injection therapies.

Professional Involvement and Research

Because of this training and experience, she has developed a comprehensive skill set. Consequently, she delivers excellent patient outcomes with very low complication rates.

Her professional approach is rooted in ethical and compassionate care. Moreover, she understands the social and economic factors influencing her patients’ conditions. Therefore, she prioritises a holistic, patient-centred approach that addresses both immediate and long-term needs. Additionally, she tailors treatment plans to meet individual requirements.

Beyond clinical work, Mrs Carter-Wale served on the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery Committee from 2020 to 2023. She also engages in national-level lecturing. For instance, she supports teaching at Brunel University for their Foot and Ankle musculoskeletal ultrasound programme. Furthermore, she remains actively involved in research through journal clubs, deanery meetings, and collaboration with the Royal College Faculty of Podiatric Surgery research network. Notably, she is a founding member of this network.
